Top 10 Gym Bag Essentials

Have you lost your mojo in the gym? If so, adding a new item or two to your gym kit could be the ultimate ticket in motivating yourself to get back in there! Whether you need a new set of headphones to play those inspiring tunes or a new pair of trainers to feel (and look) good, here are our top 10 gym bag essentials. Let us know your favourites in the comments below!

Gym Bag

Before we get into the contents, a good starting place would be a bag itself! Fed up with your current bag that holds nothing more than a water bottle and a towel? Then it’s time to invest in a bigger, better model. A good sized bag will be big enough to fit in all your essentials whilst still being small enough to carry around and fit in your locker. We like this Tiro Duffel bag that contains a compartment on the bottom to keep your sweaty gear away from your clean, as well as internal pockets to keep your phone and other essentials.

Trainers

If your current trainers are worn out and bin-ready, then get yourself a new pair that will make you work harder and look smarter, like these Nike Metcon 6. Perfect for keeping your feet cool when you’re breaking through the limits.

Towel

Let’s face it, if you’re planning a trip to the gym you will sweat! So what better way of mopping away any dripping sweat than a cotton or microfibre towel. We love this Essentials Hand Towel in Black which is compact and therefore perfect to carry around the gym and pop in your gym bag.

Shampoo

When hitting the showers post workout you will want to smell fresh, which is why our Shampoo is the perfect component. Infused with our signature fragrance, our shampoo will leave your hair feeling soft and smelling great! (You can also work the product into a lather and use as a body wash too if you’re short on space and time).

Water Bottle

Stay hydrated and help the environment by using a reusable water bottle such as this One Green Bottle. Made from stainless steel and featuring a BPA free sports cap this should be a gym bag essential that you never leave the house without.

Headphones

What better way to motivate yourself in the middle of a cardio session than blasting some inspiring tunes? You don’t want cables interrupting your session so opt for some wireless headphones such as these Powerbeats Pro with up to 9 hours listening time and they are also sweat and water resistant!

Smartwatch

A smartwatch such as the Fitbit Versa 3 will help you to track your fitness and workouts. Plus, you can also store and play music on there too (as well as call and text) meaning you can leave your phone at home.

Protein Bar

Always go to the gym prepared with a snack to help tackle any hunger pangs that can see you drive straight through a drive-thru on your way home! The Lean Protein Bar contains 18g of protein and will satisfy your sweet tooth whilst helping you to maintain your muscle.

Hand Sanitiser

You don’t need us to tell you all the germs that lurk around a gym. Most gyms will already have hand sanitiser in place but we still recommend taking your own that you can also use once you have left the building (as well as between machine use).

Socks

Help to reduce fatigue in your feet by wearing a decent pair of socks that offer flexibility and arch support such as these Charged Cushion No Show Tab Socks. These socks offer a moisture drying material which accelerates evaporation making them perfect for gym use.
